So i was in this party the other day with this Dragoon, now keep in mind as a Dragoon, you are lucky to get an invite in the first place so no complaining. So level 70~ish and the usual Aht Urghan camps are packed. Caedarva Mire itself had an upwards of atleast 90+ People with more than 10 exp partys. Bibiki Bay though, was completely empty, not a single party. So the party leaders decides to go there. Well, the Dragoon had to step in and say "Bibiki Bay, No Thanks" (The DRG in my Screenshots is not said DRG)
Now that really grinds my gears.
The Dragoon wants to party in Aht Urghan and compete for mobs from 10 other exp partys, wanting to add 6 more bodies to the already vast number of people in the zone, when we could go to a Conquest zone, with absolutely no competition on mobs, and get the same exp we would get if we were to stand there with huge downtime between pulls because mobs spawn purple.
The people with the Aht Urghan only mentality most likely started the game AFTER TOAU expansion, so of course all they know is Aht Urghan, they do not know the days of when it used to be chain 5, and then rest to full, with skillchains and Altana forbid, Magic Bursts.
We had a Red Mage complain that our party setup around lvl 66~ish was not 4 melee a bard and him as Red Mage. It was a more balanced setup in Mount Zhayolm. PLD,THF,DRK,BRD,RDM,WHM. 3 Front line jobs, 3 Back Line jobs. So the Red Mage actually just sat there and complained until he left how if he wasn't getting X number of exp/hr (it was pretty high) that he would leave. That just sickened me, and his line was "I am not happy with this party setup", and we are all sitting there like "Why are you complaining? This is a balanced party setup for this lvl, we aren't 75 we aren't DDs who sub /nin and bounce hate on greater colibri, no this is a lvl 66 party on crawlers"
It has gotten to the point where every DD seeking at merit lvl will not accept an invite unless there is a Bard in the party. They even go as far as to put in their /seacom "Burn Party Only, No Bard, No Thanks" I really have nothing but bad things to say about these spoiled kids who have this burn party only mentality, but i won't say it here because I am not a hostile person =) I just think people are getting way too spoiled. The extreme side of it was I have actually seen people with /seacoms saying "Don't invite me unless its Greater Colibri"
News Flash: Greater Colibri are not the only merit mobs in the game. There are only two camps with about 10,000+ 75s on this server.
When merit partys are formed they search an area.
Party Leader: "Hmmm... Bhaflau thickets ONLY has 103 People, lets go there."
Other Guy: Ummm... I don't want to compete for mobs, look there is not a single person in Ulegurand Range, lets go up there.
Party Leader: No, Aht Urghan Only, lets just try to run another party out of their camp.

You hate it when people camp on you or try to run you out of a camp, why do it to someone else? Why not just go to somewhere less crowded? Who knows, but with more and more people advancing to 75 post-Aht Urghan, and more and more noobs being powerleveled out of the dunes, expect to see alot more of these "Spoiled Colibri Brats" during your merit level experiences.

Does no one remember exp camp edicate anymore? >< When exp parties were in places like Cape Terrigan and Bibiki Bay other parties in the same place weren't your enemies yoyur trying to conquer, they were gamers just like yourself trying to lv up. We would have common curtiusy for one another and share mobs and assist with links if the other party was in trouble. Now a days everyone is just in a race to get merits and lv up and pay no respect to others try to accomplish the same thing. Spoiled is the least I can say about Post ToAU palyers. -_-
One of the camps I've had to use recently is Lufaise Meadows killing large birds and Rams, and yes with an lol balanced party. Gotta say, if rdms are actually complaining about not being the only mage in the party then its taken a bad turn my friends.
first off, most bards are spoiled brats, same thing goes for most rdm's... and pld's... and nin's for that matter, which is why i love going to bird camps in a cor whm + 4 dd's (Drg. War. Sam. Drk. or Mnk.)
but since bird camp is almost always packed. myself being a cor (brd wannabe but most ppl will take a cor anyway) lets me tell my pt that we should do lufaise, or ulle, or past Castle O. (havnt found an amazing camp there yet, but i has been looking! :3)
Honestly i think Se needs to add some mobs that are like mini-HNM for EXP. first off you get the practice, secondly, if you can kill 1 per 5 mins and get 1000 exp each (or more) your making the same exp as a pt killing birds for 200 exp per min, combine that with allot of spawns in a rather decent camp on a low reswpawn and ppl may go back to the good old days of SC + MB party's, 5 mins per kill may not get you chains, but like small wyrms or bigger rams... or smaller Behemoths for exp'ing i think would be awesome
oh and ppl who try to camp on other partys should be shot, its rude, it gets you blisted, and you earn your ls's bad names. on top of that, you may try to camp on a pt thats taking it easy and relaxing while they are exping only to realize you just bit off ALLOT more then you can chew. and you make your entire pt look like a bunch of noobs. point being, be courteous when you go to exp, you will keep a good reputation and in ffxi reputation is everything, sure you may not care cause your in a omgawesome ls now who doesn't care, but if you burn your bridges and your ls collapses, you may need to look on other servers for a new one.

lol Bird camps, Mamools on the first level is where the xp is at. Get 2 brds or brd + cor and your rolling in xp. Once you get a nice chain building your getting 250xp/kill within a few secs. I had a pt the other day Nin, Thf, War, Brd, Brd, and Rdm. Within 2hrs of xp'ing everyone walked away with close to 4 merits. Even had a few rocking pts on my blu there. The common setup was Blu, Mnk, Sam, War, Brd, Rdm.
But i do miss those days of xping in the mountains, in kuf. tunnel, KRT, and Lufaise (Manaburns mainly)
There accually a few nice alternative camps in Aht Urghan. Such as Trolls near the cliff (back gate), Imps near khmeria, Jnun in the reef, and Fomors in the mire. All good place but the average player is just to chicken to think outside the box. Just love those bandwage players.
Oh btw that camp at khmeria may look rough but really its not just have a pt member or two sac. The xp there is great, very little competion (just that once in a while solo blu) and endless supply of imps to slaughter up.
One thing about Thf selphiie if you want to level it through pts you must create your own most of the time. Thats how i got mine to 75 so fast in such a short time. Its also nice to have that power to kick those stupid people who refuse to try new things. Or those gimp players who think its ok to skill up in a merit pt. You know these players skilling up a weapon that should be capped because it does crazy amount of damage. Just got to love those GA wars using Keen Edge in a merit pt lol.
Being a leader of your own party and forcing your group to go to so and so camp can be rewarding.
I want to say something to that person who said Brds are spoiled brats. Not all are, some brds are just burned out with the job or tried of being used as singing machines. But there are some brds who do need a smack upside the head just to show them that they aren't gods and not everything should go there way.
When i bard it up for xp i refuse to overcamp people, non stressful pulling and control over xp flow and mobs, will always out weight fighting for pops and wasting everyone time trying to get low xp/hr.
I'm normally a friendly person but if you piss me off. I will respectfully tell you I am leaving your party. If You waste my time I for sure will waste yours. I'll laught at the time it takes you to search for another brd to do your biding and overcamp other players.
Oh btw on my server gl on finding any sort of support job. Most brd/cor on my server will refuse to do pick up pts due to the fact ALOT of merit DDs play there job gimp, and the common leader forming a party is clueless about xp pt setups and camps.
Now i don't mind the average player who is on there first job playing on a low budget. Thats understandable, but if you have a few jobs @ 75 and your still playing in gimp gear thats just asking for a kick in the baby maker.
lol GL on even finding a brd on the search all (lvl) window, if you do you better be fast and friendly to get them to join you. The Support job to melee Ratio on Odin server is 1:40. People just don't like to play it.
Brd is a rough job to play its not like every other EPEEN job in the game, without a group your nothing. You can't produce huge damage nor can you tank anymore (RIP Choco Maz). So if you don't like to help others you'll find brd very boring and lacking exictment.
I want to say sorry for this wall of bad gammer/spelling/text. But this topic was just too good to pass up. Selphiie if you discover who I am, if you need any suggestion on alternative camps just send me a tell ingame. If im not hardcore into some event I'm always willing to offer advice. ^^

honestly, if a bard is seeking on brd they better expect to do the job, a good pt leader isnt afraid to kick a bad bard
most bards are spoiled... i know a few who think they are SE's gift to exp parties (as they completly fail at there job)
if a bard doesnt want to be a bard, they should make it known to there friends and LS and lvl another job (if they only have brd lvld) just because you have a job lvld doesn't mean you should be forced to play it evry day, and if your ls thinks otherwise you deserve a better ls

I have had a lot of thf parties in the mire lately. Every single one the thf waited until after the mob was long dead and dissapeared from the screen before leaving camp for the next pull. GRRR! 2k exp/hr is the reason why people say brd/taou parties only.
I will still take any party offer and quietly accept my 2k/hr. I just wanted to get it off of my chest.
